It started with a table on Wednesdays.

I started playing in 2023 when a neighbor asked if I was interested in learning a game with her and two other neighbors. We began meeting on Wednesday afternoons. Our group has grown to twelve, and we still play every Wednesday.

In January of 2026 I decided to try a tournament to see if I had the speed and skill to keep up. I found that I enjoy the pace, and meeting the people that come together over tiles. What I did not enjoy was scrolling through lists of places and dates, and never being quite sure where to sit next.

Wednesday Table is what I wished I had at that first tournament.

Every game on this list is a real table with real people, at a place you can drive to.

The game stays at the table.

Real tiles, real friends and a paper scorecard, the way you have always played. Open play, a game you start on the spot, a league night or a tournament: Wednesday Table takes care of everything around the game.

  1. A mahjong table after a game, with an exposed hand on the front rack and a filled-in scorecard on the mat

1Play, and keep score on paper.

East writes the points on the official scorecard, like always.

  2. Hands holding a phone over the filled-in scorecard to take its picture

    2Snap the card.

Hold the phone over it. It takes the picture by itself.

  3. The handwritten scores beside the numbers the app read, each row marked adds up

    3It reads every number.

Each one is checked against what East wrote, and the math is added up.

  4. The scorecard on the mat with a phone beside it showing the round posted

    4Posted, on its own.

Scores and standings update on every phone in minutes.

Just play.

You should not need a login, a subscription, or a group text to find a seat at a table.

Find a table

Search by ZIP code and see what is happening near you this week. Open play, club nights, leagues, tournaments. One list.

Signing up is simple

Pick a game and tap to save your seat. We email you a confirmation, so you know the seat is yours. If a game is full, we will let you know when a seat opens.

Hear about what you want

No more scrolling through lists of places and dates. Choose what is close to you and what you enjoy, and see only that. When a seat opens, you can say yes in seconds.

Your scores follow you

Every game you keep score in is on your card. At a tournament, your card tells you which table to move to next, and you can follow your score and the scores of the room from your phone. Scored games build a rating from your very first game, and it appears once there are about twenty games behind it, so it means something.

Made to read at arm's length

Big type, plain words, and nothing you have to figure out. If you can send a text, you can use this.

Nothing to buy

No store. No online game. We do one thing, which is help you find real people at a real table.

Phone showing tournament standings with your own row highlighted: 4th, 245 points, and your round totals

See where you stand.

At a tournament, your phone shows your table for every round and your place after each one. Only you see your name. Everyone else is a place and a score.

What a tournament day looks like

Run your club without the group text.

Four friends at a kitchen table or over a thousand members and a hundred games a week. Same tools.

Set the schedule once

Every Wednesday, every other Tuesday, the first Thursday of the month. Who is hosting. Holidays skipped. Done.

Stop counting heads

Members say yes from the email. Seat caps, waitlists, reminders and last calls happen on their own. You see the tally, not the texts.

Open play at a venue

Any member can host a game at a restaurant or a hall. It goes to your club first, and to the public only if you say so. Guests can ask to join.

Quiet by default

Members choose what they hear about. A big club stops being a noisy club. Nobody gets a hundred texts for a hundred games.

Pause or close without losing anything

Taking a break for the summer is one switch. Your history, your members and your schedule are all still there when you come back.

Your own page

Every club gets a page with its schedule and how to join. Never a home address. If your club wants its own name and look, that is available too.

Set up your club

Built by someone who has sat at the desk.

Five minutes between rounds. Eighty people watching. This is the part every other tool skipped.

After every round, I watched players stand up and look around, trying to work out which table to go to next.

Set it all up online

Dates, days, rules, prices, table count. Publish one registration link. Players pay online when they sign up and the roster fills itself.

The room runs on paper

Every player gets a personal printed card at check-in with their table and seat for every round. Official scorecards in the style your players already know.

Every score has a trail

East keeps score, West audits, the card is photographed and kept. If a result is ever questioned, it can be reconstructed. That is the point.

Standings on every phone

Players see where they stand as play progresses. Results post when you say so. Nobody crowds the desk to ask.

Leagues, season by season

Players enroll once for the whole season and pay online. Standings run all season. Next season is one click.

The money is plain

You see exactly what came in, what the card processor took, and what is yours. We never touch the funds and we never mark up processing.

What it costs

When you get paid, we get paid. Never before.
